The opposition to this is so baffling.

Its a combination of reactionaries and puppets for vested interests

The reactionaries are the puppets. The fascist propaganda machine produces a narrative, and all of the indoctrinated lemmings fall in line.

Where are you seeing opposition to it? Like of course right wingers and cookers oppose it, but I mean sane, good faith opposition.

I don’t feel the need to cite my sources for this particular comment.

That’s an oddly defensive reply. Why make the comment at all if you are so unwilling to stand behind it?

Because it’s such a lukewarm take that I didn’t expect anyone to ask me for sources on it, and I did not make the post with that sort of investment.

I didn’t ask for sources, I just asked where you’re seeing this opposition.

I was being tongue in cheek with the term “cite my sources”, But generally I can’t be bothered looking through my search history to find examples.

TBF most people don’t realise that the addition to drama and 24 hour occupancy of hands and brain is a me problem. I agree with this move but most people will likely leave it on or just return to it. We are placing a lot of hope on people having self resistance.

Sure, but the algos, the system, are intentionally designed to be addictive. The corporates are twisted.
