As Australia grapples with what the prime minister has called a domestic violence “crisis,” experts are pleading for more to be done in regional and rural Australia.

“We know that regional Australia has a disproportionately high number of domestic and family violence cases,” said Chris Lacey, general manager at No To Violence.

“The scale of the problem is massive, and we’re just focusing way too late in the piece too often.”

“I will come in the middle of the night … The police won’t stop me. I will get to you quicker than they will,” he said in a phone call before her death

I suspect its simpler than that.

A lot of rural people are people who mentally never left their high school bullying days and have played victim their whole life, rather than take responsibility.

And, a lot of them are narcissists who need people to kiss their asses. They NEED to be superior to others.

That’s why they’re the same losers running around even calling EV drivers, lefties and greenies “gay”.

It’s often the ones you MOST expect.

And the problem is a lot of parents blame teachers instead of their own shitty parenting.. Thats the biggest issue

Living in a regional area myself, I’d say you speak a lot of truth.

We also have to consider that many of the parents have themselves been brought up by parents who were harsh and lacking education. The regions also attract people with scarce resources because it’s cheaper to live. There are drug issues, fascistic influences and also small-town silence and power cliques, etc.

My own take is that the young out in the regions need better educational opportunities and emotional (IQ) activities to help them deal with their own ‘stuff’ plus respect others and broaden their horizons.

Yeah.. Also, to be clear, we had so many customers in rural areas who were the nicest people ever too.

But when your dad is complaining you’re being f**ked by the rest of the country because roads outside your land (which only cost $250p/m, vs $10000p/m metro) are crap and you deserve more facilities, it certainly develops a victim mindset.

Whereas, in practice, its basic economics
