Global Day for Gaza - 3 years of genocide and resistance - 11 October

The event is meant to remind us of October 7 and the aftermath. They have chosen the 11th because it is the closest day to the 7th and it is on a Sunday when more people are available to be on the street to protest and not at work. I hope you can go.

Your post got me thinking last night. Was there some ambiguity to what you said about commemorating the terrorist attack of October 7?

We need to also remember the innocent Israeli lives lost.

The taboo topic (not so much anymore), however, is that the Oct 7 attack could have been stopped from happening altogether. Netanyahu was given intelligence that Hamas was planning some major offensive 5 days before the attack. He told no one. In fact, that part of the boundary between Gaza and Israel had been left unguarded, in contrast to normal practice. Why? Further, when the attack began it took the IDF a lot longer to get there than it should have, considering army units are everywhere (so to speak) and the distances not long. Finally the IDF practised the Hannibal offensive [edit: oops, Hannibal Directive] shooting their own people down rather than they be taken hostage. To this day we do not know how many of the Israelis who were killed that day were by the Israeli army. Make of that what you will, but killing up 100,000 people, most of them being unarmed civilians and a large percentage children, pulverising every building in sight and continuing to kill civilians to this day and stealing more land in the West Bank and Lebanon plus continuing the violence and deaths, is a total obscenity which should not be continuing 3 years on.
