Clover Moore Cancels ‘Globalise the Intifada’ Forum

The forum went ahead in a public park, and still had politicians Ahmed Ouf (Ind) and Jenny Leong (Greens) speak, as well as Ed Carroll (one of the Jewish speakers arrested in Queensland over speech laws).

The kicker is that the council had insisted SWOP hire private security for the venue, before canceling.

Anyway, it went pretty smoothly and plenty of students walking home from university cheered in support. Speakers were all insightful, which is how a public forum should be. Plus, it was nice to do this outside for a change, to be honest I think we should meet in parks more often.
