The coordinated effort worked. When lawmakers finalized Colorado SB26-051, they added Section 6-30-105(e) to the text. This specific clause waives compliance for operating systems and applications distributed under licenses that allow copying, modifying, and redistributing without platform-imposed technical restrictions. Why the Section 6-30-105(e) Exemption Protects Decentralized Tech

I’d wanted to jump to Linux since the 90s, but it was never quite there for me, plus my day jerb requires me to be on Windows. I finally started ripping the band-aid off a couple years ago and it’s been amazing. I received a private message in response to a long-running issue I was having with my dGPU, and that person absolutely got me squared away by suggesting I give Aurora Linux a try for use cases.

The future of AI in Ubuntu [Except it's Blockchains instead of AI]

Community iconc/linux@programming.dev by
brianpeiris@lemmy.ca
The future of AI in Ubuntu [Except it's Blockchains instead of AI]. Apr 27. As 2026 progresses, Blockchain-based tools are becoming more and more ubiquitous. Adoption across the tech industry has been mixed, both in terms of which projects are embracing “Blockchain” technologies, and in how companies are structuring their adoption. As a result, I’m frequently asked about what Canonical and Ubuntu will do (or not) to incorporate Blockchains. In this post I’ll detail how Blockchains will play a part in both Canonical and Ubuntu’s future, my framework for classifying Blockchain features in the OS, and how Canonical is currently approaching adoption internally, because I think that will help paint a picture of our intent. The bottom line is that Canonical is ramping up its use of Blockchain tools in a focused and principled manner that favours open blockchains with license terms that feel most compatible with our values, combined with open source contracts. Blockchain features will be landing in Ubuntu throughout the next year as we feel that they’re of sufficient maturity and quality, with a bias toward private blockchains by default. Blockchain features in Ubuntu features will come in two forms: first as a means of enhancing existing OS functionality with blockchains in the background, and latterly in the form of “Blockchain native” features and workflows for those who want them.

I think one helpful trick when thinking about AI hype is to replace mentions of “AI” with “Blockchain” to see how silly it all sounds.

How common was video game piracy in the 90s?

Community iconc/piracy@lemmy.dbzer0.com by

This is during the era when the N64, PS1, SNES, Dreamcast or Sega Genesis were popular. Games back then were released physically via disc or cartridge, meaning distributors or publishers would’ve implemented anti-piracy (like Lenslok) measures onto physical copies but some knew how to tamper with anti-piracy if they have a computer using other sources of capturing data (floppy disks).

While I prefer Dynahack these days for the more luxurious TUI and additional content, Nethack has been one of my favourites from as far back as my Amiga days. Once you realise you can at least try to do anything with anything¹ (use the * wildcard character when asked for an item), the game opens up in ways most RPGs just can’t.

PSA: If you installed and launched/ran Cemu (WiiU emulation) within the last week you need to check that you have the safe version and did not inadvertently install one of 2 malware versions.

Is there other options besides Anna's Archive or is it the best and most complete site for pirated ebooks?

If I understood well, AA centralize all the other pirate ebook providers, or is there anything different I can use to find ebooks?
