This Government is anti-science.

They've slashed the CSIRO and other science organisations because they want corporations in those roles in time for "The Big Build" so they can divert government funds to their usual masters.

They're anti-science on some many fronts because of that. Ignoring that censorship doesn't work and is unpopular. Ignoring that vapes are likely safer than tobacco. Ignoring that weed is safer than alcohol.

Modern Labor are being dunces. Worse it's targetted against the population, we're the ones who will have to live with the consequences.

Basically Australia of today has lost touch both with itself and with the ground. Worse, it lies to itself and believes it to be the truth.

They better not put the bat convention attendees on the hotel floor above the pangolin convention guests!

My gut instinct is fear of rabies, not xenophobia. Maybe their shots weren't up to date.

I believe (I am connected to people at the conference) it was named as lack of confidence they were coming for a conference and not intending to stay beyond the visa. A number weren't just attendees but speakers. It's bananas

Rabies isn't THAT transmissible
